Cameron Phelps Munter is a former American diplomat and career foreign service officer. He is currently a visiting professor of international relations for a three-year term at Pomona College in Claremont, California. ==Early life and education== Munter was born in Contra Costa, California, in 1954, graduating from Claremont High School in 1972, where he distinguished himself as a distance runner on the cross country and track teams. He attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, graduated magna cum laude in 1976 with a B.A., and the universities of Freiburg and Marburg in Germany.
